This morning we will continue on in Luke chapter 12. Jesus warned his disciples to avoid greed when they had an abundance of possessions and worry when they were fearful that they would not have enough. Jesus taught that an effective disciple has to be free from greed and worry.

Jesus knew and taught His disciples they would be persecuted (Matt. 10:24-25). Persecution will tempt them to deny Him. In our passage today, Jesus trains His disciples how to defeat persecution fear temptation.

Far from being critical of the Mosaic Law, Jesus honored the Law of Moses and taught it was the key to kingdom life. Jesus was not critical of the Mosaic Law, but the Oral Law.

You and I are accountable for what we believe and the way we live. In fact, all humanity will give account to Jesus for what they believe and how they lived either at the Judgment Seat of Christ or the Great White Throne Judgment.
